SHOULDER

 

 

Lying                                                                          

1. Lift both arms overhead     

2. Lift arm overhead                                                   

3. Arms out to side - elbows at 90                             

            hand to head of bed

            hand toward waist

4. Elbow at side – rotate hand out.

5. Clasp hands behind head

            elbows in

            elbows out

6.      Lift arm to ceiling – Lift shoulder blade off bed.

Sidelying

1.  Lie on side – lift hand up and down while upper arm rests on body.

Sitting

1. Lift arms overhead

2. Lift arm overhead

3. Use towel to “clean” table up and down/side to side; turn to side

4. Press ups on chair

5. Shoulder shrugging

6. Push broom

Standing

1.      Climb wall   forward/sideways

2.      Codman’s - Lean on table rotate arm clockwise, counter clockwise.

3.      Push ups:  wall        table         floor

4.      Use stick to reach-backward; forward; sideways-thumb up; rotate outward

5.      Hand behind back - hold towel and pull - hold

6.      Scapular plane elevation with thumb down.

 Isometrics by doorway

1.      out to side

2.      forward

3.      backward

4.      rotate outward

Theraband

1.      pull back

2.      out to side

3.      forward

4.      across  body

5.      rotate outward

Prone

1. Extension with external rotation

2. Horizontal abduction

 

 

10x  Gradually increase to three sets-----  3x daily
